  1. The seventh graders are on the way to our mountain adventure. Students on bus two are singing to the top of their lungsas we watch Frozen. Of course, there are others who are getting a little more "beauty sleep before we arrive.

  3. Although we've had some rain, everyone is having a great time. I've Ben hanging around with group two. They've been working in their survival skills...determiningg which materials are most important for suvival and learning how to start survival fires. I believe their favorite activity was canoeing. Everyone was grinning ear to ear the whole time.

  5. First, let me apologize for grammar and spelling errors. I'm healing from eye surgery, and my vision is not back to normal. I' m also terrible at texting.
Now for the real news...dinner tonight was turkey and gravy, rice, peas and carrots, bread, and salad. I was watching many go back for seconds and thirds.

  7. Evening activities have been fun. We made candles, cooked biscuits, played jacks, and listened to legends and tall tales about mountain life. I only hope we have enough energy to walk back to the cabin.

  10. Good Morning! I have to admit that not all of us were as alert as others this morning. Thank goodness for early morning coffee for chaperones! We had pancakes, sausage, cereal and oatmeal for breakfast.
Although it poured rain last night, it is only misting this morning. The temperature is supposed to drop from 58 to 45 by 1:00.
This morning I'm following the rock wall climbing group. Pictures are coming.

  11. We have had a great time with group four. Yesterday we did the high ropes challenges. The staff here challenged our students to step outside their comfort circle in order to challenge themselves. It was great to watch our kids step up to the challenge. For some that meant getting to the top of the ladder, for others it was completing an obstacle. While on the course, the staff belayed out students, the method for holding a safety rope to stop a fall. Afterwards they had a great lesson on how we can "hold the rope" for each other.
