Lunch was delicious today- make your own chicken and cheese tortillas, chips, salad, and fruit. Many of the girls were cold and exhausted, so most of us went back to the cabin and rested before our next class at two o'clock. One girl needed a little more rest, so I graciously offered to stay behind with her. I didn't want anyone else t miss out on the fun. : ) Other chaperones are taking pictures and will post them to the blog as soon as they can.
Dinner: pasta with marinara sauce, green beans, garlic bread, salad, and the favorite: confetti cake. Tonight we are at a program called Animals we love to hate. We saw roaches, worms, frogs, a tarantula, and a vulture. (By the way, did you know that a vulture has red feet? They just look white because its poop stains them. Well, our seventh graders were enthralled to hear this information. We also saw possums and snakes. At the end of the show, students voted on which animal they wanted to touch and have their pictures made. They chose the possum. The presenter also let them touch the snake. When we got back to the rooms, the girls entertained the chaperones and each other with a talent show. ( I promised that I wouldn't post pictures of that.) Well be seeing you tomorrow.
Last day! We've had a great time so far,but I think we are all ready to sleep in our beds tonight. Breakfast this morning was bagels and cream cheese, sausage, grits, and fruit. Today , I am with the groups at the high ropes course. The students are much braver than I am. Pictures will be coming soon.
We enjoyed sandwiches and chips for lunch and took time to complete a quick survey of our time at Mountain Trail Outdoor School. We are now on the road home!
